2017 May 1-7 DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA will take place for the 12th time in six different cities of Lithuania – capital Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Telšiai and Anykščiai.

The main organiser and representative of the festival in Vilnius city – association Design Forum. In Kaunas city design store Interjero Erdvė will coordinate all the activities of the festival. In Klaipėda city this year we will have a new representative – creative incubator Kultūros Fabrikas. In Šiauliai city as usually Lithuanian design store wãpsva | LT will take care of all the events. In Telšiai city collaboration with Telšiai faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts and Telšiai Gallery will continue. In Anykščiai city recently opened arts’ incubator will be responsible for preparing annual design fiesta.

As for the festival itself, this year we are celebrating new official colour of DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA. Our followers in Facebook decided that this year leaf green will be the best colour for the event. What is more, the official theme of the festival was announced. This year we are inviting to contemplate on the topic of five senses. The sixth sense of good design is also included!

As for the programme of the festival, the official opening of DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA will be held on May 2nd and followed by the ceremony of national contest GOOD DESIGN awards and the exposition of winners’ works. What is more, expositions of DIZAINOVACIJA.LT project will revive the windows of shops and restaurants located in the main streets of festival cities. In 2017 our guest country will be Poland. In collaboration with Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw and Poland Institute in Vilnius, events dedicated to Polish design will be held during DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA. Also, designers from Hungary will visit the festival for the second time.
