During the Budapest Design Week, the exhibition DESIGN LITHUANIA prepared by the Lithuanian Design Forum opened its doors where the works of more than 20 talented Lithuanian designers and design studios were exhibited. During the exhibition, Lithuanian design was presented in a joint exhibition of the Baltic States, together with expositions representing Latvian and Estonian design. The best Lithuanian design works were presented to the festival visitors during the presentation of the director of the Lithuanian Design Forum Gražina Bočkutė.

The exhibition was held at Ateliers Pro Arts, A.P.A. from October 5th to October 13th of 2019. By the address: Horánszky utca 5, 1085 Budapest, more information can be found here. A.P.A. The gallery is located in the city centre and it is one of the buildings where the main events of the design week take place, which is attracting the majority of the festival’s visitors.

Works in ceramics, fashion accessories, interior design, furniture and lighting, and other design areas reflect the theme of Flow, the theme of this year Budapest Design Week festival. During this exhibition, visitors not only had the opportunity to get acquainted with Lithuanian design works and identity but also to discover its otherness and versatility. Visitors of the exhibition were invited to discover the cosiness, sense of naturalness and nature created by Lithuanian design in the cosy exhibition space reminiscent of the home environment.

The project has been organized by the Lithuanian Design Forum since 2012. The project is partially funded by the Lithuanian Culture Council.

DESIGN LITHUANIA is a travelling cycle of Lithuanian design exhibitions, which has so far visited a number of the most famous European capitals such as Paris, London, Stockholm, Budapest, Minsk, etc. DESIGN LITHUANIA exhibitions aim to present the best works of both design professionals and young designers at the most important European design events by paying attention to Lithuania’s potential and design resources. The project is partially funded by the Lithuanian Culture Council.
