news_67Association “Design Forum” for the second time during the exhibition “Baldai”(Furniture) held a furniture design competition [neformate]. This year’s competition, like last year was curated by Nauris Kalinauskas. Selected theme for the competition – “Two in One”: opportunities of transformation in furniture items.

The jury votes showed the winners:

First place went to Mindaugas Žilionis for SOSS. This is a unique system that allows really simple from the uniform components to construct plastic formed interior design elements;

Second place went to Studio Ltd. (J. Brundza) for a steel chair LYA, which can be both standard and shortened height. LYA minimalist design is particularly suitable for the outside – even when it rains, one of the seats shall remain dry;

Third place went to Lukas Peršakovas shelf BARDAKĖLIS. Hidden hinges connected plywood cubes allows to transform the system, creating not only the rectangular structures.

Diplomas for: Vytautas Puzeras for the light invisible and darkness visible label ION, Neringa Dervinytė for slightly firm and a soft chair and Anna Januškevičiūtė for light plastic screen-shelf ORIGAMI.
